Last night I had the pleasure of spending the evening with the Rose life group. Typically I share for about 10 minutes and take a few questions, but this night was very different–we chatted about Bolivia, the Lord’s calling, the nature of faith and wisdom, and so many more topics for over an hour. I felt both encouraged by the kind words and prayers, and challenged by some of the questions asked.

I feel blessed to be supported by this wonderful group of people and I look forward to continuing the relationship and especially catching up with them once I’ve been to the field and have returned stateside for a visit.

Last Thursday I had a wonderful time eating a potluck lunch and sharing about Bolivia with the Johnson life group. Fewer things are better than pleasant conversation with believers over a meal!

Thank you all for your gracious hospitality and listening to what the Lord has laid on my heart. I pray for increasing unity in Christ for your group and effectiveness in sharing the gospel with others.

When I traveled to Santa Cruz, Bolivia my typical diet consisted of rice, beans, meat, and yuca (a root crop that sort of resembles the taste of a potato). The typical diet and hunting/farming life of the Bolivian Amazon is quite different; that’s why this National Geographic video caught my attention. Take a look:

Learning how to teach English as a foreign language…
For the past several weeks I’ve been taking a course offered through the International TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Academy. This course has taught me numerous strategies about how to teach English to foreign speakers in a way that maximizes their learning experience, all the while keeping the class fun and engaging.

Building a team…
I’ve continued to meet with individuals and Bible study groups to share about my plans for Bolivia and I have a number of speaking engagements coming up soon. Please pray that I can continue to cultivate new partnerships. This past month the Lord grew my prayer team to 139 people.

Prayer requests for June:
Please pray that the Lord would open the hearts and minds of the students He wants me to reach.

Please pray that the Lord would give me the wisdom to know how to best reach out to those students in need of a Savior.
